Metrics can be calculated from SEM images with the click of a few buttons, providing initial estimates of sample properties such as porosity, pore-size distribution, pore orientation, pore area and specific surface. These can then be plotted against other properties or used in data-mining to estimate the petrophysical properties of rocks when RCA and SCAL data are not yet available.
